Welcome To Brock Ridge (Pickering)
Brock Ridge is northeast Pickering’s family-subdivision heartland, built through the 1980s, 90s and early 2000s on a hilly ridge with West Duffins Creek wrapping around its west and south edges. The name is a nod to Sir Isaac Brock, but the ridge part is literal… the streets roll, and a surprising amount of ravine runs through and around the neighbourhood.
This is a practical place to live rather than a postcard. You buy here for a solid two-storey on a family street, schools within walking distance, Brock Road’s everyday shopping, and quick access to the 401 and 407. Nobody moves to Brock Ridge for nightlife, and everybody knows it.

Northeast Pickering, centred on Brock Road north of Finch Avenue. West Duffins Creek forms the west and south boundary, the hydro corridor runs along the north, and the Ajax border sits to the east.
Mostly detached and semi-detached houses with some townhomes. In Q1 2026, TRREB reported an average sale price of about $950K and a median of $941K for Brock Ridge, on 12 sales… so treat the quarterly numbers as directional.
You’ll drive to the train: Pickering GO on the Lakeshore East line is about 10 minutes down Brock Road, then roughly 45 minutes to Union. The 401 is minutes away, and the 407 at Brock Road is the back door for cross-GTA driving.
That’s the whole pitch. Schools in the neighbourhood, Brockridge Community Park at the south end, ravine trails out the back door, and streets full of kids.
If you want a newer-ish family house with green space nearby and don’t mind driving everywhere, yes. If you’re after walkable restaurants or a quick downtown commute, look further south or west.

Cultural landmarks: Brock Ridge is young by Pickering standards (the first subdivisions date to the 1980s), so the landmarks are natural rather than historic… the ridge itself, and the West Duffins Creek valley that wraps the neighbourhood.
Hot local spots: the everyday shopping is along Brock Road; standout independents are thin on the ground here.
Parks & green space: Brockridge Community Park off Brock Road at the neighbourhood’s south end, a valley park with ball diamonds, mini soccer fields, picnic tables and trails; plus the West Duffins Creek trail system for longer walks and rides.

What We Love
The ravine. West Duffins Creek gives Brock Ridge a genuine green edge that most 1990s subdivisions never got, and the hilly streets keep the place from feeling like a grid stamped onto a field. Prices are also honest: you get a real detached house here for less than the older lakeside pockets of Pickering, with schools and a big park you can walk to.
What We Don't
It’s car country, full stop… the GO station, the mall and most jobs are a drive away. Brock Road is the neighbourhood’s main artery and it’s busy, with ongoing construction traffic from the new communities growing to the north. And if you’re hunting for architectural character, the 1990s builder special is what’s on offer.

Durham Region Transit runs along Brock Road and Finch Avenue, and Pickering GO is about a 10-minute drive for the roughly 45-minute Lakeshore East run to Union. Drivers are well served: the 401 to the south and the 407 to the north, both via Brock Road.

Brock Ridge is served by the Durham District School Board and the Durham Catholic District School Board.
