Travel to the far east side of Leslieville along Queen, Dundas or Gerrard, along the Danforth, past the heart of Greektown, and you’ll find yourself in the area known as Greenwood-Coxwell. Here, you can visit Bricktown and India Bizaar, Monarch Park, and parts of the Danforth and Leslieville… all within its boundaries. Outsiders might see it as an area with an identity crisis, but those who live here see themselves in a neighbourhood that is filled with a diverse, welcoming community.
This area is not as well known as some East End ‘hoods, but Greenwood Coxwell over the years has seen a shift from the place people stop on their way to somewhere else, to a destination for food, beer, art, shopping and more. Affordable commercial rent has drawn fresh new businesses to the area and has given established west end favourites the perfect spot to open on the east side – hello Glory Hole Donuts!
