As part of our Agent Spotlight series, today we’re talking with Halina Bucchino, who has been part of the BREL team since 2017.

Why did you get into real estate?

My husband and I were investing in Toronto Real Estate and I wanted to have access to all the information at my fingertips. What better way than to be a licensed salesperson? I also absolutely loved the idea of having flexibility in my schedule to balance my work/life/family. I’ve since learned that’s not always the case (I’m talking to you Spring and Fall, lol).

What did you do before becoming an agent?

I graduated with an Honors Degree in Physical Education so before becoming an agent I worked in the fitness industry as a personal trainer and taught various classes and also assisted in managing investment/income properties.

What’s it like being on the BREL team?

It’s like being part of a really supportive family who all have a common goal; to be the best at what we do and to always be at the forefront of new developments in our industry. I’m very proud of our team and consider myself incredibly lucky to be a part of it.

What do you love most about buying and selling homes?

There is something so satisfying when we help clients to successfully buy and sell a new home. Building relationships with people and knowing that you have their trust is what I love most. The work is so dynamic and ever-changing, there is never a dull moment.

Tell us about where you live.

I live in Riverdale with my husband and two daughters. I think Riverdale is one of the best neighborhoods in the city in proximity to downtown, parks, restaurants and amazing amenities. Everything I need and desire is walking distance, a huge bonus for someone whose office is her car.

What does ‘home’ mean to you?

Home is the place I feel most comfortable in the world, where I am surrounded by people and things I love. It’s familiarity and a safe place where I can do what I want, make it my own and share it with friends.

What’s your craziest real estate story?

Some things I have witnessed are simply too graphic to mention, so instead, I will focus on the craziest thing I almost didn’t do; join the BREL Team! Working on your own as a REALTOR has its perks but it can often be a lonely job. When I joined the BRELs I had admired their marketing from a distance but was not accustomed to team culture, so had no clue what to expect. I can’t, nor do I want to imagine doing what I do without the support of my team, the thought of THAT is CRAZY. It allows me to focus on what I love most about the job, to stay focused and to keep getting better, and to keep seeing some crazy things.

In 25 words or less, what’s your best advice for a Toronto home Buyer?

Have an open mind during the process. You may need to make compromises, so prioritize what is most important to you; must-haves vs wants.

In 25 words or less, what’s your best advice for a Toronto home Seller?

View the selling process as a journey and not a chore. The more you put into home preparation the more you get out of it!

What we ❤️ best about Halina

By Melanie: Broker/Owner

Truth: our unofficial motto on the team is #BeHalina – because she’s just that awesome and everybody adores her. Halina is super sweet until you get to the negotiating table, when she transforms into a shark (I’ve personally experienced this, it’s truly something to watch). Halina takes such incredible care of her Buyers and Sellers and I love reading the reviews they leave for her. Even though Halina has been the top agent at BREL for the last 2 years, there’s no ego there – she’s the first one to volunteer to help with the crummiest of jobs and offer support. She inspires us all. #BeHalina.

And while completely unrelated to real estate…Halina’s got a killer fashion sense and she just oozes cool sophistication. I’m always excited to see what she’ll be wearing.
