Around the Neighbourhood

Cultural landmarks: the mouth of the Rouge River and the southern edge of Rouge National Urban Park sit immediately west of the neighbourhood, reachable along the waterfront trail.

Hot local spots: none inside the neighbourhood… Rosebank is entirely residential, and the locals like it that way. The nearest strips are Kingston Road and the Nautical Village on Liverpool Road. 

Parks & green space: Petticoat Creek Conservation Park runs along the entire eastern edge, with picnic areas and lookout points on the Lake Ontario bluffs (note: its big outdoor pool is permanently closed), and the Rouge Valley trails are on the west side.

Pickering counted 99,186 people in the 2021 Census, with a median household income around $118,000, and Rosebank sits well above that midpoint. Expect long-tenure owners, higher-income families with teens, and buyers who came for a ravine or lake lot and plan to stay decades. What We Love

Water on three sides and trees everywhere. Between the Rouge, Petticoat Creek and the lake, Rosebank has more conservation land per resident than anywhere else in Pickering, and the lots are the kind you simply cannot buy new anymore. It’s also one of the shortest Toronto commutes in Durham, which feels like cheating given how tucked-away the streets are.

What We Don't

Selection, or the lack of it: three sales in a quarter means buying here is mostly about patience. Prices match the setting. There’s nothing to walk to except nature, so budget for two cars. And the northern streets trade some of the quiet for 401 hum.

Real Estate

Rosebank is almost entirely detached, spanning nearly a century of building: original early-1900s houses, 1970s family homes, and large custom rebuilds on the ravine and lake-adjacent lots. Q1 2026 TRREB figures show an average around $1.46M and a median of $1.5M on just 3 sales… treat any quarterly stat for this neighbourhood as a small-sample anecdote. New to the market? Transit

Rouge Hill GO in Scarborough is the closest station, a few minutes’ drive over the river; Pickering GO is the alternative, with roughly 45 minutes to Union on the Lakeshore East line. Durham Region Transit’s Kingston Road routes connect to Pickering GO, and the 401 is at the neighbourhood’s northern edge.

Schools

Rosebank is served by the Durham District School Board and the Durham Catholic District School Board. Rosebank Road PS, a small K-8 school of about 220 students, is right in the neighbourhood; Father Fénelon Catholic School is the nearby DCDSB elementary, and high schoolers head to Dunbarton High School and St. Mary Catholic Secondary.
