The 60 Bathurst tower is quite distinct from the smaller, more boutique building on Niagara Street: the exterior of 60 Bathurst is comprised heavily of a glass curtain and ground level space is occupied largely with retail, whereas the Niagara St building is both smaller and brick-fronted, so as to blend with the residential character of the street.
This is a beautiful project with a wide variety of floor plans. Open concept 1 and two level suites offer 10 foot concrete ceilings with exposed ductwork, and finishes that include track lighting, stainless appliances and large, private balconies. Ground floor loft ‘towns’ include coveted back gardens that are no doubt envied from the neighbouring balconies above, and penthouses have cool features like metal tread stairs. A shared rooftop party room in 60 Bathurst allows residents to take advantage of stunning skyline vistas in the warmer months.
The Niagara Street units have a more exclusive feel to them (despite the 3 addresses it’s one combined building), with small elevators that only service a couple of units each, and appropriately larger units. If modern, contemporary design is your thing, this is a great place to start a search. A number of the buildings right across the street share similarly-flavoured design though are generally offered at a considerably higher price per square foot.
What We :The Thompson Hotel is right across the road, so the cachet of the neighbourhood is rock-solid. Great views from 60 Bathurst of the residential neighbourhood aren’t likely to change, and if you’re in the smaller Niagara building, there’s nothing that says exclusive like having an elevator that only services a couple of doors!
What We Don’t: Bathurst Street ain’t getting any less busy and parking comes at a premium around here.
