About Robert Watson Lofts - 369 sorauren avenue, toronto, ontario

Looking for charming authenticity in a neighbourhood with a sense of community? The Robert Watson Lofts is a great choice. Lofts here are a result of an amalgamation of two buildings: the century-old Robert Watson candy factory was converted in 2007, while at the same time a soft loft extension was added onto the back of the building. The result is 153 one and two-level units that range in size from 550 to 1500+ square feet.

There’s plenty of character at Robert Watson, with exposed brick walls, beautiful floor to ceiling windows, 12-foot ceilings (some with original wood beams in the hard portion of the building), and polished concrete floors. Some units also feature private terraces, and suites with arched windows in the hard lofts are some of the nicest we’ve seen. Limited amenities include an excellent fitness centre and a multipurpose/party room..

The most attractive feature of this building is the location. This is a quiet, family neighbourhood, where people know their neighbours. Nearby Sorauren Park is a haven for dog walkers, sports fields and one of the most established farmers’ markets in the city, while the European-flavored festivals and retail offerings on Roncesvalles are nearby. Authentic loft style with a healthy dollop of community and a large side of lifestyle is what the Robert Watson Lofts are serving up.

What We : Robert Watson is another one of our favourite lofts in the city. Units in the original conversion building (363 Sorauren) ooze character, while the new building (369 Sorauren) have more practical floor plans, better soundproofing and a view of the old painted brick walls of the former warehouse. Many units have a clear view of the Toronto skyline that isn’t likely to change. Plus there’s easy visitor parking!

What We Don’t: Ground floor units on the west side of the original Robert Watson (fronting onto Sorauren) have terraces, but they can be quite public.
