The Beach House Lofts is an ultra low-rise boutique building on Queen Street East just west of Woodbine. At just three stories, the 12 units range in size from 615 up to 1748 square feet. The purpose-built soft loft building features 17-foot ceilings and is constructed in a linear fashion over retail space that takes full advantage of outdoor space, with balconies or terraces in every suite.

Convenience is king here with easy access to transit outside your door on Queen, and a wealth of amenities as close as your access to the beach and waterfront boardwalk. Restaurant and entertainment offerings in the area are enviable. Woodbine Park hosts a number of annual events, and the Internationally known Beaches Jazz festival – one of the city’s best – happens just a few blocks away east of Woodbine.

Beach House Lofts won an Urban Design award in 2009 for ‘Building in context’; i.e. it works well with the neighbourhood, a great example of a building that doesn’t alienate itself from the community. Reclaimed brick and large windows blended into the modern industrial-style architecture really give this building style. If you’re looking for stylish space that fits well in its neighbourhood, the Beach House Lofts is a great option…though it won’t come cheap.

What We LOVE : Beach living! Enough said.

What We Don’t: The only conceivable deal-breaker we could potentially find in this beautiful low rise is the lack of an elevator. Although the building is only three stories high, this might be a downfall for downsizers.
