Why do I love my job?
It combines two professional passions. The first comes from my 25 successful years working in marketing communications — primarily in a client-service environment — coaching clients with varying levels of experience and expertise through their communications program from beginning to end. And the second comes from a lifelong interest in real estate which began working part-time in a real estate office through high school and university and continues to this day.
It’s actually more like matchmaking than anything else. The city is made up of a collection of neighbourhoods that are actually little cities unto themselves, each with a unique culture and character. Finding the right property for the right person(s) in the right neighbourhood often feels like matchmaking.
What neighbourhoods do I live in? What makes it groovy?
I’ve been in Toronto more than 30 years, living at Yonge/Eglinton and Forest Hill and, for the past 15 years, in a loft and now a house in Roncesvalles Village. My love for Roncy is deep and wide and not just because of the restaurants. Roncy has leafy streets, great mixture of homes, charming shops, great parks, friendly neighbours and did I mention the great restaurants?
When I’m not working, you can find me….
Walking my dog in the morning in High Park or along the Lakeshore Waterfront Trail, cooking up a meal from a new recipe, visiting with my (amazing) nieces or singing (loudly) in the shower.
The kind of clients I tend to work with….
I’m a very straight-forward and decisive person so am drawn to people like that; however I also love working with people who are a little nervous about the process, helping guide them through what to expect and when to expect it. Reminds me of my days working in a public relations agency in the shoes of a first-time client project manager and when I was in the shoes of a first time condo or home buyer.
What Neighbourhoods do I often work in?
Is the ‘Great Yonge Street Divide’ myth or reality? Hmmm, remains to be seen. That said, I’ve lived west of Yonge for 30+ years now and am familiar and comfortable in these ‘hoods. And, with Waze, I’ve discovered all kinds of pockets I might not have otherwise known existed.
Why am I the right agent to sell your home with?
I chose the BREL team for a couple of reasons. First of all, Brendan and Melanie were my real estate agents and impressed me with their standard of customer service and marketing acumen – some might say I liked them so much, I joined the company. I share those values and come to real estate with decades of experience working with clients and marketing expertise.

We were very pleased with the whole process of working with Lisa and appreciated her attention to detail, responsiveness, experience, and knowledge.
Their expertise was obvious, especially in some difficult negotiates with a potential buyer. When our home did not immediately sell, Halina and Lisa came back with a new strategy that worked almost immediately.
