Fun Fact: I grew up in a small town 1 hour west of the city called Waterdown. As a kid we didn't even have a local McDonalds. Might explain why I was pretty jazzed that there were three 24-hour burger joints within a 5 min walk of my condo when I moved downtown 10 years ago.

My Life Before Real Estate

Right before I made the “jump” to real estate I was working in client service at a marketing and communications agency. And before that… I was a server at Earls, and a Production Assistant for CBC Sports — which is a more resume-proper way to say that I brought Ron and Don their coffee on Saturday nights during Hockey Night in Canada. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been obsessed with houses. I used to browse real estate listings for fun in high school. Yes, high school. I always wanted to be a REALTOR (but my mom thought it was probably a good idea that I go to university first). Fast forward a few years…after a business degree from Laurier, pursuing further education in Public Relations, and working in PR for some pretty high-profile clients like Netflix…it was still a career dream lingering in the back of my mind. And, as it turns out… Mom was right. All that schooling and work experience set me up pretty perfectly for a successful career in real estate.

Real estate is a lot of people’s plan B, but it’s always been the dream job for me.

What I Love About Being a REALTOR

Being so extremely fortunate to wake up in the morning and be excited about what I do for a living. It’s a career where every day is different, there are endless opportunities for skills advancement and you get out of it what you put into it. Plus, I get to work with some pretty amazing people along the way.

Why I Love Helping Buyers

I have so many interests that revolve around homes: interior design, architecture, renovating, home organization, green living, cooking… I could keep going here. So naturally, touring homes online and in-person EVERY DAY is at the top of my list for favourite job perk. Also and most importantly, I feel helping people make better decisions about where they live is a HUGE, if not the greatest contribution to their quality of life. I feel honoured to be a part of that process.

Favourite Buyer Story

Just recently helping my buyers score their dream home in their dream neighbourhood for quite a dreamy price (significantly under asking)! Negotiations were tough and spanned a couple days but they came out on top in the end and I couldn’t be more happy for them!

Why I Love helping Sellers

My previous career in marketing and communications has really primed me well to represent sellers. I feel in my element when planning marketing angles, strategizing on price and consulting on how to best prep and stage homes before they hit the market.

Favourite Seller Story

A little nutty to manage at the time… but on the offer day for one of my listings I received about 100 phone calls before 2 pm from agents with interested buyers. Worth it in the end as it translated to 10 offers and an amazing sale price for my client!

My Life Outside of Real Estate

Outside of real estate… I spend most of my time at parks walking the dog and taking care of my 1 year old. They keep me busy, on my feet and bring me endless joy!

You’ll Enjoy Working with Me If…

…you appreciate knowing the details, having a thorough analysis and someone on your side who is 100% invested in achieving your goals. I can be known to spend hours poring over the numbers, chatting through strategies and making a game plan to get my clients to where they want to go.

Favourite Neighbourhoods

Too many I love to choose from but top of mind are…

Dream neighbourhood — The Kingsway: love the old English architechure & winding streets. I like to drive around the hood and peep all the Christmas decorations during the holidays.

Roncesvalle: maybe it is my Polish roots and always wanting to have lunch at Cafe Polonez, but overall this laid back community feels very welcoming!

High Park: Anything within walking distance to High Park (the actual park). Love the off leash dog trails here.

Riverdale: lovely family homes and the view of downtown Toronto from the top of Riverdale Park never gets old. Bonus: yummy Greek food is close by!

Client Reviews

Read My Reviews
I’ve used BREL & Jenny’s services twice now and I can’t say enough good things about her professionalism, keen eye for detail and just all-around great personality. She made buying and selling properties with her a breeze - I never felt pressured into anything and she sought my input every step of the way. I wouldn’t hesitate for a moment to recommend her to friends & colleagues. I wish I’d found her sooner!

Read this honest review if you’re looking to sell! We could tell right away that the Brel team were expert marketers — their deck and presentation were very impressive! But, could they sell our unit that had some distinct objections working against it (a highway view, smaller second bedroom and mainly original finishes — all of which automatically decreased the buyer pool), while in the midst of a declining condo market, was the real question. And the answer was yes! We had the pleasure of working with Jenny Maycock, and we can't say enough about how efficient she was in steering the ship. She introduced us to Kiel, their interior designer, whose immaculate staging really made our home shine. We could tell we were in good hands with Jenny. Her market analysis of our unit was bang on and she gave sound advice and counsel throughout the entire process. She went out of her way time and again for us — even helping to coordinate and oversee repairs and professional cleaning while we were out of town. After months of stress dealing with another agency, we knew we had made the right choice by switching to Brel, and wish we had done so sooner. They really do go above and beyond, and as a result we had an offer on the table in no time. We were so very relieved. Even in the midst of a pandemic filled with so much uncertainty in the market, we felt confident that we were getting the most for our home. A great experience overall, and we would highly recommend Jenny and the Brel team to our friends and family.

I am a first time homebuyer and I knew Jenny was the right agent for me from the moment she sent me a calendar invite to book our first meeting. She's perpetually organized and responsive, and she diligently provided in-depth answers to my endless emails. She talked me through the home-buying process, diving deeper on each stage as we approached it, and gave me confidence in her expertise. Jenny had contacts to recommend for everything I needed from mortgage broker to solicitor to insurer. Hint, they all turned out to be superstars too! Jenny waded through the mountain of listings I was interested in and found the gems. Then she dug even further into listings I'd overlooked and found some more great places to show me too. Once we were through our first batch of showings, Jenny really honed in on my main preferences and steered me towards listings that would be a great fit. She was also a champion through the offer process, giving me tips on key aspects to present the most attractive offer, guiding me through price negotiations, keeping me updated through offer night, and winning the first condo I'd put in an offer on! Jenny has been my go-to for absolutely everything through the home-buying process and I definitely couldn't have done it without her. Could not recommend her enough!
