Today I’m sharing a listing of a waterfront home on Clear Lake, near Espanola/Sudbury/Manitoulin Island.

In the spirit of full disclosure, this is the home of a family friend. I grew up in Espanola and spent many summers peddle-boating on Clear Lake and sitting on the dock at this very house, dreaming about life. It was my first exposure to luxury real estate (sorry, mom and dad) and I LOVED it. 

Now of course this home has been fully updated since my days in Espanola, and now features 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, huge living, dining and family areas, a finished basement, multiple sun tunnels (I love sun tunnels), a gourmet kitchen and a double garage. And of course there’s a dock, a multi-level deck and 2 covered porches to enjoy the 150 feet of lake frontage (facing south, of course).

Located in between Sudbury and Manitoulin Island (and just minutes from Espanola), this waterfront home is a great alternative to the typically high-priced cottage areas in Ontario. With top-of-the-line everything, I can imagine this home appealing to a lot of us southern Ontario folk (who let’s face it, have accepted that $600K buys you a 2 bedroom condo without a view or an entry level house in Toronto). We all need to get away from the hustle-and-bustle of the city sometime.
